We see Kevin get discriminated by his family and everyone else around him and can't stand seeing him get tortured by his family. In this film we have the pairing of two talented actors in Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern(I REALLY LIKE THE WAY THIS GUY ACTS & HIS SENSE OF HUMOR!!!). They are a pair of burglars Harry Lyme and Marv Merchants , specializing in housebreaking when the occupants are off on holiday. Meanwhile Harry has his sights set on the McCallister House. Others in the cast don't have as much to do but do well enough by their roles, particularly Catherine O'Hara and John Heard as the parents who only discover on the plane that Kevin is missing.
Eight-year-old Kevin is the black sheep of the house, who is regularly picked on by his siblings and cousins, and his parents are annoyed by his antics. Kevin finds himself forced to sleep on the third floor of the house. The next day, the McCallisters accidentally sleep in and barely make it to their flight, but when airborne they realize they forgot Kevin.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time as well as one of my favorite Christmas films. This is one of my favourite films but I have read that a new version is to be filmed in early 2020. It stands the test of time and is as funny now as it was on its release. On August 5, 2009, Hughes and his wife traveled to New York City to visit their son James and their new grandson.
Kevin keeps silent about his encounter with Harry and Marv, although Peter finds Harry's missing gold tooth and wonders what it is. He then goes over to the window and sees Marley greeting his son and his family. As he is hugging his granddaughter, he looks up to see Kevin. However, Buzz interrupts him by calling out, "Kevin! What did you do to my room?" He immediately runs there and the film ends. On Christmas Eve, Kevin overhears Harry and Marv discussing plans for breaking into his house that night. After conversing with a Santa Claus impersonator and watching a local choir perform in a church, he comes across Marley.
Collaboration with John Candy
It mixes emotion, belly laughs and a warm-hearted ending all into one little bundle called a movie. John Hughes' films, in my experience, are usually very good, mainly because he approaches films at a very classic level. He doesn't resort to crude, kid jokes, like 'The Master of Disguise' or 'The Tuxedo,' to name a few recent flops. He almost always levels everything out perfectly in his scripts, and nothing is different here.

Home Alone was first released by Fox Video on VHS and LaserDisc in the United States on August 22, 1991, their first video to go direct to sell-through rather than to the video rental market first. It sold 11 million copies, generating Fox revenue of $150 million making it, along with E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, the highest-selling video of all time at that point. Due to the sales, the film did not perform as well in the rental market.

His parents forget to bring him on the family trip due to being rushed from a power outage overnight and being isolated since he is on the third floor. This leaves Kevin alone with no power in his house for days. During his time alone he realizes that a pair of thieves are planning to rob his house, but he creates the ultimate plan to take them down and send them to jail.

Once he realizes they've left him home by himself, Kevin learns to fend for himself. He eventually has to protect his house against bumbling burglars Harry and Marv , who are planning to rob every house in Kevin's suburban Chicago neighborhood. Cinematographer Julio Macat recalled that Pesci was more difficult to work with than Culkin. The older actor believed some of the dialogue was not of a quality commensurate with his acting ability. He also resented the early unit calls, since they prevented him from starting his day with nine holes of golf as he preferred to do.
You stood at the door as your parents walked to their car, you waved goodbye as they drove off. As usual on off school days you did your one mile jog with a bra connection wedgie. Your friend Liv jogs with you aswell, She is the person who knows your secret.

Set one year after the events of the first film, Kevin McCallister loses track of his family at the airport to which he accidentally gets on a plane headed for New York City while the rest of the McCallisters fly to Florida. Home Alone is a series of American Christmas family comedy films originally created by John Hughes, and directed by Chris Columbus (1–2), Raja Gosnell , Rod Daniel , Peter Hewitt , and Dan Mazer . The films revolve around the adventures surrounding children who find themselves alone during the holiday season and are faced with the challenge of defending their family's house or themselves from invading burglars and criminals.
His first credited screenplay, National Lampoon's Class Reunion, was written while still on staff at the magazine. The resulting film became the second disastrous attempt by the flagship to duplicate the runaway success of National Lampoon's Animal House. Hughes's next screenplay for the imprint, however, National Lampoon's Vacation, would become a major hit in 1983.

According to executive producer Scott Rosenfelt, a copy of the script was "clandestinely" delivered to Fox, bypassing the legal restrictions that would have otherwise prevented Fox from seeing it until the project was in turnaround. Warner demanded that it be cut by $1.2 million; the producers responded with a memo arguing that the budget could not be cut any further. Unconvinced, Warner shut down production the next day, but it quickly resumed when Fox took up Hughes on his offer. Meanwhile, on Christmas Eve, Harry and Marv finally realize that only Kevin is in the McCallister home, and Kevin overhears them discussing plans to break into the house that night.
Buzz is mean for Kevin and Uncle Frank openly dislikes Kevin. When Uncle Frank tells Kevin «Look what you did, you little jerk! », Kevin's parents should tell him something like «Frank, stay out of this and shut up!
